We’re thrilled to share that Newquay Foodbank has received funding from Cornwall Council’s Community Capacity Fund to carry out a feasibility study—the first vital step towards creating a new, purpose-built space to support our community more effectively.
This study will explore the potential for developing a multi-bank building in Newquay—a shared space where organisations can come together to offer coordinated support to those experiencing hardship. Our vision is to work collaboratively with other local services to improve the chances, choices, and opportunities available to people in crisis across our town.
As demand for support continues to grow, it’s clear that partnership is key. This funding gives us the opportunity to assess what is possible: how a new building could bring services under one roof, enhance accessibility, and provide a welcoming space that restores dignity and hope.
The funding for this study comes from Cornwall Council’s Community Capacity Fund, part of the Good Growth Programme, which is delivering the UK Shared Prosperity Fund in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. We’re grateful for this investment in the future of Newquay and its people.
This is just the beginning, and we’ll be sharing updates as the project develops. In the coming months, we’ll be engaging with local organisations, partners, and residents to shape what this new space could look like and how it can best serve our community.
Thank you to Cornwall Council and the Good Growth Programme for believing in our vision—and thank you to everyone in Newquay who continues to support and champion the work we do.
Together, we can build something that truly makes a difference.
