Please note, this position is between 9am-5pm including Saturday’s on a rota basis.
JOB CONTEXT
Newquay Foodbank was established in 2011 as a volunteer-led, emergency food distribution charity tackling food insecurity and poverty in our community. Today, it is a vital community asset, supporting over 500 individual’s a week Newquay Foodbank are committed to addressing the root causes of food insecurity and poverty. Through collaborative work we aim for a future where people feel effectively supported in our community through some of the most challenging times in their lives.
JOB PURPOSE
To provide day to day co-ordination of Newquay Foodbanks wrap around care working in collaboration with organisations in our community to bring about the best outcomes for those the foodbank supports. Working with the Operations and Project’s Manager you will provide co-ordination of an aligned service provision ensuring those needing help get to the right service at the right time. In addition, this people facing role will include outreach support coaching.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
This dual role has responsibility for building relationships with services in the Newquay area (referral agencies) at an operational level and provide stewardship for those that already exist. Identify and organise opportunities of ways to work with other organisations to reduce the need for people to repeatedly seek help from multiple agencies, reduce duplication of service and improve outcomes for those requiring support. Leading mapping of the services available in Newquay and surrounding areas, maintaining a directory of contact details and ensuring information is disseminated to support coaches. Furthermore, you will be central to the co-ordination of Newquay support coaches and associated case work. In addition to leading the community co-ordination you will act as an outreach support coach managing a case load across Newquay and surrounding areas.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Translate priorities into deliverable plans and ensure those plans are implemented in the community
- Monitor performance and progress against plans, adjusting where required and reporting to the Operations/Project’s manager on KPI’s.
- Identify opportunities to expand impact through partnerships and innovation and take responsibility for initiating and leading associated changes.
- Develop and maintain systems that enable mapping of activities and coordinated working
- Develop and maintain the client recording systems seeking continuous improvement for system and process
- Ensure effective service delivery, through supported referrals (warm handovers) and feedback loops across a range of different services while maintaining dignity for those requiring support
- Maintain visibility across frontline services leading a small employee team and larger volunteer team
- Collaborate where practical for Co-location of services and support
- Undertake case work on a rota basis to meet service requirements including Saturdays
